Chicago 2026: Can you be fully proud of the fight even if you’re disappointed and the time on the clock was far off what you felt capable of? Today’s @chimarathon was a very similar experience as 2021 and 2024 for me. Went out in what I thought would be conservative in the warmth and high humidity, but still really struggled in the back half. Kept fighting, kept trying to go with every male runner that went around me the last 6 miles. 2:32, 18th, 1st masters. The upside of age is experience, and I’m drawing on the next races after those Chicagos for me. In 2021 I set the American record in the half marathon a few months later. In 2024. just one month later, I ran 7 minutes faster than I did in Chicago and set the American masters record. Keep showing up and keep swinging. Go all in and fight to the end, but no matter the result, have short term memoryβ€” and go again. If your race was similar, I hope this encourages you to not believe in yourself any less. There will be a moment where you see that fitness realized. I still have so many beautiful memories of rolling along smiling thinking β€œthese are the days” before things went south thanks to all of you that came outβ€”thank you! We lick our wounds, we recover, we dream againβ€”and go again. See you then β€οΈπŸ’™ πŸ“·: @katrinagaisford , @fastwomen
~My mountain and I ~ I haven’t shared my face on my photography account for quite some time, so for those who don’t know, hi I’m Faith! Apart from loving photography, I also enjoy being in front of the camera, ( only when attempting to emulate a period piece of some sort ) :) I grew up surrounded by the forests and mountains of Washington, and this past summer @nai.lense took some photos of me up in them ! Three different stories. Three different paths. One thing in common. WE DON’T THINK SMALL. WE DON’T PLAY IT SAFE. AND WE DAMN SURE DON’T WAIT FOR PERMISSION. Some people talk about what they’re going to do. Others put their entire lives in MOTION. We’re not here to fit in. We’re here to build something the world can’t ignore. NO COASTING. NO QUITTING. NO EXCUSES. ALWAYS FORWARD. MOTION///
