A bodyguard romance. Fake dating. Enemies to lovers. A ‘Gossip Girl’ and a ‘Gilmore’ guy. And at Christmastime? 🎄 This movie has everything! In ‘Guarding Stars,’ Leighton Meester plays a bodyguard tasked with protecting Jared Padalecki’s movie star. But when they head back to his hometown for the holidays, he asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend instead. The movie is based on Katherine Center’s BookTok fave ‘The Bodyguard’ and also stars Andie MacDowell, Walker Hayes, Noah LaLonde and Toby Sandeman. ‘Guarding Stars’ is streaming on Netflix on Nov. 18. Until then, swipe 👉️ to see the first trailer. (🎥/📸: Guarding Stars)
The sick mentality of some men is honestly beyond disturbing. Before anyone asks, these messages are from men in India. This is the side of social media you don’t always get to see. The disgusting, sexually explicit messages women receive from men who think it’s acceptable to speak to us this way, completely unprovoked. This is what I repeatedly experience on my social media, it’s absolutely disgusting. Unsolicited sexual messages, degrading comments, men who think they can speak to women however they please. The entitlement is unreal. And no, this isn’t a one-off. It happens far too often, which is exactly why I speak up about it. I’m proud to have been born and raised in the UK, where I’ve had the opportunity to grow up challenging attitudes and expectations that I don’t agree with. Honestly, my heart goes out to women in India who have to navigate environments where misogyny and sexual harassment can be so deeply normalised. No woman should have to put up with this behaviour. Being a man doesn’t give you the right to sexualise, degrade, or disrespect a woman. And hiding behind a screen doesn’t make you any less disgusting. I’m sharing this because I’m tired of staying quiet about something I experience on a daily basis. If this makes you uncomfortable, perhaps ask yourself why the behaviour is being called out rather than questioning why it happens in the first place. #proudtobebritish #proudtobebornandraisedintheuk #birmingham #uk #britishandoroud
