The best part of the past is that it lives on in photos.

💭It’s easy to look at people and think they have it all figured out. They’re always on time, have their finances in order, work out regularly and eat well. But we only see the outside. Nobody’s life runs smoothly all the time!

In my work, I meet a lot of people who feel disappointed in themselves when they can’t stick to the training routine they planned. Little by little, they lose their rhythm, and before they know it, they feel like they have to start all over again. Maybe that’s you right now?

🔑 But a plan can’t only work when everything goes smoothly. It should also make room for real life: busy days, poor sleep, sick days , changed plans and periods when you have less energy.

📉 Progress is rarely a straight line. There will be pauses and detours. What helps us move forward is being able to adjust the plan and speak to ourselves with a little more compassion. It’s easy to beat yourself up for a missed workout or a meal that didn’t go to plan. Remember to give yourself credit, too—for the workouts you did manage and for the times you found your way back.

👆🏼 You don’t have to start over. You can simply carry on from where you are, with the capacity you have right now🩷

Just a little reminder, cuz we see so many quotes about giving 100% or nothing at all. Sometimes, I think we need to learn to meet ourselves somewhere in the middle. 🤍

Is Your Ego Stopping You from Enjoying Life?

I’ve often noticed how ego can quietly take us away from the moment. We start measuring respect, recognition and who knows whom instead of simply enjoying where we are. 🌿

We may start wondering where we are seated, who has acknowledged us and whom we should speak to. Instead of enjoying the moment, we measure the experience by how much recognition we receive.

Respect and recognition matter, but they are not the measure of our entire life. Buddhist thought reminds us that status and prestige are temporary. I believe we experience life more fully when we hold ourselves lightly.

A little humility helps us stay lighter and more present. What do you think? ✨
