You cannot defeat an idea
you refuse to understand.
.
That’s not strength.
That’s blindness.
.
People act as if the other side is stupid.
Evil.
Crazy.
.
But large groups of people don’t arrive at conclusions for no reason.
.
Whether they’re right or wrong
is a separate conversation.
.
The more important question is:
.
Why do they believe it?
.
What are they seeing
that you’re not?
.
Because if you only understand your side,
then you don’t actually understand the battle.
.
You understand half of it.
.
And half of the information
can lead you to the wrong conclusion
just as easily as no information at all.
.
The strongest position isn’t blind agreement.
.
It’s being able to explain both sides
and still knowing where you stand.
.
Because the moment people stop listening,
they stop learning.
.
And the moment they stop learning,
they stop correcting themselves.

That’s when real chaos begins.

Not when people disagree.
