This morning, still deeply within the grief, I held my regular weekly Friday live class with my community of people who are so dear and special to me, whose journeys of creativity, beauty, and pain I’ve been part of for many years. Today, I got to share my own moment of tragedy with them. The moment the call began, I put my head down and cried. Julia heard me from the other room and came in to hug me. She ended up staying for the entire ninety minutes to listen, share her experience, support, laugh, and cry. Today was one of the most important moments of my entire life: to get to serve, to get to share from inside of my own tragedy, with my soulmate and the most important person in my life by my side. A few notes about Siena. I don’t fully understand how to explain this, but Siena seems to have impacted thousands and thousands of people around the world. What I’ve seen is that she’s touched a creative impulse so deep in people that it’s allowed them to remove the normal protective ways they tend to operate with the world and allow the truth of their soul to shine through. People who never write poetry are writing poetry. People who tend not to sing are singing. People who tend to miss the night sky are just sitting with the stars. She is inspiring art. It is so beautiful, and I am so moved. One of the funny things that came from this call is what we are now calling Siena-energy 💞🧡🌸 Our little October pumpkin girl, our pink and orange sky 🥺 It’s wisdom, grace, love. And care. But it’s a ferocity; a ferocity to expect and welcome all things to be better. Thank you all for holding us so graciously. It is an honor to be in this space with you. And thank you, my sweet Julia, for holding my hand and always being by my side.
