Social media and the fitness industry is lying to you about what real health can look like. Unless your goal is to get really good at running or the sports of Hyrox or Crossift, you do NOT need to do them to get into better shape. If you are burnt out and/or in a hard season of life with high stress of little kids and/or work, these aren’t the best strategies to choose to work on your fitness. A lot of the content we consume on social media is of a bunch of fitness addicts chronically over-training and using a lot of it for content. They wouldn’t last a day in your shoes!! And it’s certainly not what is necessary to achieve the goals you have for yourself. -3-4 full body strength sessions (follow a plan to dose the stress properly!) - calorie and macro awareness - walk and play with your kids as much as possible - try to get better sleep This is the way^^for health and longevity **I am NOT saying you should never sign up for a race and enter a hard and gritty season of training. It is good to get out of your comfort zone and push yourself IN THE RIGHT SEASON OF LIFE. I’m speaking to the people chronically burning themselves out with those styles of training. Esp the ones thinking it’s “healthy” or the “only way”. Fitness addiction and burn out is NOT healthy and it doesn’t need to be so extreme.
