Original music - in collaboration with the wind - by @quintamakes @nonclsscl

I (Eleanor) am so pleased to share news about new work I have been developing over the past year through an Arts Council England Develop Your Creative Practice (DYCP) award.

As part of this process, I have been mentored by Professor Becky Beasley, and I’m delighted that she has invited me to present ‘Cormorant’ as work-in-progress film at Pacing & Spacing: Crip Process, Form and Reception in Art and Writing on 12 June at QUAD, Derby, alongside her touring exhibition A Gentle Man (Part II).

About Cormorant;

“An oceanic space — shape shifting (water animal and more than human) and exploration of deep blue time (as opposed to land based deep time).” @bruce.e.phillips

Whale sharks, cormorants, George Marston, Francis Ward and Anna Kavan become companions with its logic becoming clear through the comfort of rolling spheres of geological material from deep time; shimmering pale blue ink made from copper pipe; liquid contained; arrangements of objects, rearranging, arranging again.

Solace.

I’m also very happy to share that Arts Council England has awarded the project further Research & Development funding to support its next phase. It means so much to have this work supported by so many special people.

My thanks to Becky Beasley, Kirsty Whatley, Angela Martin, Nick Collins and Arts Council England for their support. I absolutely can’t wait to continue the development of this work.
