Take a look at these installation images from ๐ ๐ค๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ: ๐๐ฟ๐, ๐ ๐ฎ๐ด๐ถ๐ฐ, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ถ๐, a group show presented by PSAM exploring how magic, spirituality, and esoteric knowledge have shaped queer art and culture in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
ย
Featured among the exhibition is ๐๐๐๐จ๐ฉ ๐ค๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐ (1983) by Carlos Alfonzo. At the height of Alfonzoโs career, he had created a lexicon of iconography frequently personified in an abstract expressionist tone that unmistakably belonged to the artist. Many of these symbols oscillates between identity, religion, and mysticism. We are proud to have assisted PSAM in securing the loan, bringing Alfonzoโs voice to this striking exhibition.
