Off Chops

Today we release our second EP, Pub Emo

We started out as an Australiana-style punk band and this EP is titled Pub Emo because that is how we’d describe our genre today.

Before we go on to talk about the songs, I’d like to thank everyone who streams our music, comes to our gigs and engages with us online. We love sharing our creations with you and you make it all worthwhile.

You’ve probably heard most of the tracks on this EP if you’ve seen us live but here’s a little description of each one.

1. Get Outlook For Android
A song Nick wrote about the frustration of receiving an urgent last-minute job at 4:30pm on a Friday from a boss who is clearly out of office already since they’ve sent their email with the tag at the bottom “get outlook for android”.

2. Temporary Mates
A song about the joy of making a friend on a night out that you have no obligation to ever see again.

3. ‘07 Corolla
A song Yossi wrote about having to get rid of his first car. While we’re saying goodbye to the Corolla, we’re also saying goodbye to being a young adult with no responsibilities and the freedom to go on adventures with your mates at whenever and wherever you want.

4. Indefinite Hiatus
A song Nick wrote about discovering the band Modern Baseball, falling in love with them and then having a horrible realisation that they’ve already broken up and he’ll never get to see them play live.

5. Paper Straws
The new song on the EP, it’s a track Yossi wrote after drinking an overpriced banana smoothie through a disintegrated paper straw. The most annoying thing about the experience was that the drink was housed in a plastic cup with a plastic lid, so what were we even achieving here?

Thank you again for getting around our music, hope you enjoy this EP!

Much love from your boys,

Yossi and Nick
