Also featured were @hiro__bartender’s Campari Red Hands competition cocktails, Scarlet Bee and Fortuna Rossa, which earned him the 2025 Japan championship and APAC second runner-up title.

The sandwich was named after a man who supposedly loved gambling so much that he refused to stop playing cards to eat. According to a famous story, John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, requested meat between two slices of bread in 18th-century England so he could eat without interrupting his game. Although people had eaten bread with fillings for thousands of years, his title helped popularize the name.
Interestingly, sandwiches existed long before they had a name. Ancient civilizations ate combinations of bread, meat, and vegetables, while the modern sandwich eventually became one of the world’s most popular convenience foods. From burgers to submarine sandwiches, countless variations now exist. All because, according to legend, one aristocrat couldn’t be bothered to put down his playing cards.
