A referee slid into an East Carolina player during their game against Temple, resulting in him being carried off of the field.

AN EAST CAROLINA PLAYER HAD TO BE HELPED OFF THE FIELD AFTER A REFEREE SLID INTO HIM DURING THEIR GAME AGAINST TEMPLE. The unexpected collision left the player injured, and the situation quickly went from a normal football play to a concerning scene.

The craziest part is that the injury involved a REFEREE. You expect players to get hurt from tackles and physical contact, but nobody expects an official to be involved in a collision like this. The East Carolina player needed assistance from the medical staff to leave the field.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WILD. Football is already dangerous enough without having to worry about accidentally getting taken out by a referee. Hopefully the East Carolina player is okay and the injury isn’t anything serious.
