As athletes, you and I have tens of thousands of thoughts daily. Psychology studies, indicate the human mind produces about 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts per day.

Of these, research suggests that up to 70% to 80% can be negative in nature. 🤯

Because the brain's natural threat-detection (fight-or-flight) systems focus heavily on potential errors, athletes routinely deal with up to 42,000 to 64,000 fleeting negative or repetitive thoughts.

In sports, these frequently manifest as:

😵‍💫 Performance Anxiety: Fear of bonking, DNF or letting your team or family down.

😒 Comparison: Negative self-talk triggered by tracking competitors or scrolling on social media.

🥺 Doubt: Inner-critic thoughts that trigger physiological stress, disrupt focus, and cloud judgment.

Elite athletes utilize mental conditioning and psychology frameworks to combat these automatic thoughts so they don't hinder their physical performance. 💪

If you're an athlete that struggles with the mental side of competition...

Using a mantra is one of the most effective ways to disrupt and reprogram negative self-talk. 😍

When your brain enters a "negative loop", it hijacks your working memory.

A mantra acts as a congnitive circuit breaker, physically blocking the negative thoughts from dominating your focus. ✨️

I can testify the above by the number of messages I get on a weekly bases. Telling me how much our mantras have them athletes keep going when the mind starts to chatter. 😎

One mantra. BIG SHIFT.

If you have used our mantras and it has helped you, let me know in the comments 😉
