"Echoes of Curves"
Born in Arica, in northern Chile, and now based in Paris, Paulo Arica is a self-taught artist whose career has intersected with graffiti, photography, and fashion design before finding his true calling in sculpture.
His initial training in shoe design taught him "the art of mastering curves and standards," a requirement that still influences his approach.
Fascinated by the purity of lines and the dynamism of forms, he has developed a body of work centered on curves, rhythm, and balance.
"Echoes of Curves" explores the positive and negative space of an abstract silhouette: as the lines unfold, the eye gradually discovers a curve, a sway of the hips, an intimate presence suggested.
His sculptures are constructed in layers, strips of wood cut, sanded, and painted one by one, giving rise to organic volumes where the rigor of the process blends with a profound sensuality of form. On
