CEO of Cringe reporting for the duty of a little dancey dance to celebrate the return of Reading Rainbow 😂 🌈

Video Description:
An excited Mychal smiles and dances into frame. He continues to switch up his “moves.” Text on screen reads, “Silly goose joy of Reading Rainbow being back on YouTube.” Revival theme song rendition plays, sung by @bukolamusic ✨

Did Mark Zuckerberg just inadvertently create the most relatable tech CEO moment of the decade? The internet is in an uproar after a clip resurfaced from the October 12, 2016 episode of *The Cheeky Pint*, a business and technology program hosted by Stripe co-founder John Collison. Filmed in a meticulously crafted Irish pub studio set in San Francisco, the segment captured a rare, unscripted instance of the Meta CEO’s public persona cracking under pressure. Zuckerberg, seated centrally in a dark polo, is seen mid-sip of a traditional Irish stout, his lips pursed and jaw visibly tensed. This isn't just any drink; it's Guinness, personally transported by Zuckerberg for the show, and his struggle to maintain composure while consuming it has become a viral sensation.

This seemingly innocuous moment has transcended mere internet fodder, evolving into a poignant reflection on the often-unseen pressures faced by even the most powerful figures in tech. As the video rapidly spreads across platforms, viewers are not just laughing at Zuckerberg’s strained expression but are also finding a shared humanity in his struggle. It’s a powerful reminder that beneath the veneer of corporate titans and their carefully curated public images, there are still moments of awkwardness, vulnerability, and the universal challenge of simply trying to look cool while doing something slightly uncomfortable. This viral clip of Mark Zuckerberg and John Collison serves as a fascinating cultural touchstone, highlighting the relentless scrutiny and the surprising relatability that can emerge from unexpected places within the high-stakes world of Silicon Valley.

Not hyperbole. Multiple studies in mice, monkeys and HUMANS show that processed foods damage a region of your brain that controls satiety.

Mice (PMID 22201683) An evolutionarily inappropriate processed food diet causes microglial infiltration and astrogliosis of the arcuate nucleus. This inflammatory process prevents POMC (pro-opiomelanocortin) neurons from “sensing” circulating leptin, leading to a deficit in the satiety response.

Macaque monkeys (PMID 38892139): Equivalent findings to the mouse model. Processed food diets caused arcuate nucleus astrogliosis and deficits in leptin signaling.

Humans (PMID 22201683): Obese humans show damage (astrogliosis) in the infundibular nucleus (homologous to the arcuate nucleus) on T2-weighted MRI. This directly leads to disordered hunger and satiety cues.

This is what “food noise” looks like at an anatomical level and you are doing it to yourself with the junk food you are eating.

Those 200 calories of Oreos, Doritos, or any other garbage processed food are damaging the satiety center of your brain (the infundibular nucleus of the hypothalamus) and making you hungrier later.

Over time, excess food intake due to disordered satiety leads to metabolic dysfunction, obesity and lower quality of life.

Interestingly, GLP-1s partially bypass this “brain damage” and help restore satiety at the level of the hypothalamus which also contains GLP-1 receptors. They have multiple side effects, but in some ways, they act as a partial antidote to the “food noise” caused by processed foods.

Don’t take this to mean I am a fan of GLP-1s. I see them as a temporary band-aid at best.

What to do:

The more elegant way to solve this problem is simply to eat unprocessed, single-ingredient foods (=food for humans) that do not damage the infundibular nucleus of the hypothalamus.

There are so many single ingredient foods that are delicious (meat, eggs, milk, cheese, fruit, honey, vegetables) that help restore proper satiety signals and overall health.

If you’ve made it this far, please send this to someone who is still counting calories and eating junk food but doesn’t understand how bad this is for their brain.
