Today, Bill C-16 has received royal assent and is now LAW. Intimate partner violence. The timing of it all. The one week anniversary of me flying to give a speech to presidents and vice presidents of organizations, a speech my daughter saw my generous cheque for getting paid for doing so. A speech that garnered a personal invitation from a president of an even larger organization to join yet another very important AGM.

“The government bill also puts more onus on intimate partner violence offenders to prove their innocence.” — this comment from a recent article makes my speech and my initiative, my project, my work, and all 19 pages of my writing that a crowd listened to for nearly an hour (and I am still processing the jaw dropping experience of how incredibly it was received) just THAT. MUCH. MORE.

My writing/posting for an update of my trip and also my thank you email to the organizations is still underway… I just want to sit in the awe of it all by myself a little longer. And I guess I can add “at a podium” when Isa says she loves me because I “stand up”. That’s what I did, with a microphone to amplify my words even louder. And because I did, a landslide more is coming down the pipe.

“Like this?” (me, stands up)
