July 2, 2025 - From the formatter: “It is headed “My Dear Child” when it should have been “My Dear Mama”, everything else is correct. We know entirely how this happened and it’s easily fixed. We have now updated the file.” 💫The universe fought so hard to have an error land in my launch copy because I fought so hard to have it the way I wanted/wrote it and designed it. There are many who have seen and witnessed, and I am so blessed to have thee Mr Thompson at Inspirational Book Writers post a video expressing this in advance of the discovery. If you have a paperback copy that has “My Dear Child” at the top of the very last page, you mean the world to me. What this means is with tangible, visible, material proof, you helped my paperback copy of Nanay, Nanny, Mama, Yaya: The Separation that Connects Us All make it to # 1 Bestseller. Nobody who bought the print copy 48 hours after launch has this copy… you are a special crew. I guess one could say you have a limited “edition”. Coming your way is the revised paperback with this word fixed as in the original. (See the video on my fb re: proof copy to have the arc of the book explained.) You will find not just my autograph but an individual, lengthy letter written at the back expressing my utmost thanks for making my book top of the charts in more than one country and in more than one category. And I am especially excited at being able to hand you or mail you — as I so love connecting in person as well as affixing stamps and sealing envelopes and posting letters — these copies that will be delivered to you not direct from a printing facility nor warehouse but from my very own home. From my very own desk. It’s like the last page of the story — “our words will keep us close”… … I get the opportunity, through the journey of these words themselves, to do something that keeps us a little more together. 💞 ✨ If you have this copy, send an email to nanaynannymamayayainfo@gmail.com 🇨🇦 Amazon Canada: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0FFM9T6Z5 🇺🇸 Amazon USA: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FFM9T6Z5 by @g_u_knit

She’s home. Now it says, My Dear Mama 🥰🥰🥰 I had bought two copies after the formatter updated the file. When I opened the package, the first one had Dear Child at the back and my heart sunk. Then I giggled because the second one had the fix!! It’s like Amazon telling me, this is the VERY last copy of your limited edition, collector’s item— and it’s YOURS! — AND you are the owner of the very first fixed copy! One of my friends said she’s putting hers in her safe. It’s making me giggle extra that it could be worth something someday and that others are treasuring it in this way. 🕊️ 🦋 🪽 I’ve mentored a lot of high school girls in the past few years, and it’s sad that when I describe the extent of amazing ways my guy friends existed and showed up in the world (and still do)… they say they know no boy like that. I didn’t think it was rare at the time, we were spoiled for integrity-fuelled dudes, but it’s looking like I just happened to be in a very fortunate location at a very fortunate time. It’s life-easing having someone like Derek in your circle. Just being himself, tons of people had the best days because of it. The fullest smiles, the warmest hugs… and the biggest laughs. HUGE laughs. And the way he could scan you for a second and know he needed to add a little more to brighten your day. The utmost SAFETY. If there was one friend I could pull back into this world for myself and for others, it would be him. The older I get, the more I see of the worst in people… the more I wish he was here counterbalancing the cruel. I’m so grateful for Steph and Patti having the same hug. I melted out front of a school this past year with a friend who was doing one of the bravest things a woman can do, and in the moments I had thought of him and how he would have been a great person to make us feel better, there the best older sister he could have had appeared, just standing there. Open arms. Mama bear, big sister hug. I’ve had so many, but this one even more so felt like his. Always protecting his girls just by being caring… Our loved ones’ presence is felt in those moments that their loved ones do for you exactly what they would have done could they be here. So wish you could be here. by @g_u_knit
MY NEW “OFFICE” ;) I am in absolute heaven. One of the top busiest airports in the country so these take offs and landings happen back to back to back. I am super fond of the hangar next door, the happiest of memories— from 18 friends enduring winter choreography sessions to perform for my 18th birthday, to the B17 bomber I got to climb into thanks to a friend, to taking the Cherokee Piper Archer out for a “few” spins, to orchestrating somebody’s night flight to impress a girl… this is the perfect place for me to finally hunker down after a wild summer to catch up on everything, to process some pretty epic proceedings, and to breathe. Still a little jet-lagged, hence the jet fuel… but wouldn’t you know it, not just one not just two but THREE av gas trucks. Today is another lucky day ☀️ by @g_u_knit
🇩🇰 Your Lille Ven & LILLE Lille Ven made it to Denmark, Dad. I made sure to drive Storebælt and stay the first night in Jutland like old times, this time in the oldest city of the north. Tomorrow we return to Horsens. The memories alive, making you more so along with them. ❤️‍🩹 by @g_u_knit
1st sess of the season. Will never not bring ol’ blue. I still shake my head looking at this @kelbindavid Pro board and runnin’ pools with @bhenney_ and 2 years running think how the f*ck did I gain the best skim crew after so many years off and right before the weeks I was geared up to get back in. That July 2024 was gold. Like, don’t wake me. Seriously. The kayotics connection, the pro level coaching, the kapwa/bayanihan when the young ones come through, the one friend who gets you to the beach on your day off with “nothing” to do… soul healing. . . . One clean 180. She made it. ❤️‍🩹 by @g_u_knit
I just got these given to me just now, from my neighbour, over my gate. A beautiful bouquet of flowers already in a pretty vase already filled with water 🥰. I’m carrying them everywhere with me today. It’ll be my patio, kitchen, garage, bedroom, car… fireworks night. Ohhhhh, this life feels so beautiful. She’d said, “I feel this is the start of a new chapter.” It’s all one book, all we enjoy and endure in life. I just love that no matter how opposite of gorgeous many events and experiences can be, there is always something shining around the corner. Thank you everybody for continually having something ready, something beautiful, for me to see when I follow my dad’s advice to look for it— the bright side. Thank you for bringing me the bright side 💫 by @g_u_knit
Today marks the anniversary of launching my book. What a whirlwind since then. I just watched a video message last night of someone reminding me that I discovered Halcyon from one of my favourite songs (going on about 30 years now) is synonymous with peace… Shortly after I launched, my dad’s health went south and passed away 2 months later in a manner of a father hearing his daughter’s pleas that it was time to go, that that specific timing would be the most peaceful. “We all stayed beside you all last night. I put all your stuff around you. I don’t want to lose you when I’m driving Isa to school.” And he granted her that peace mere seconds later. Normally, a year after launching a book would include so much. My dad was always about doing the foundational things first. Superimposing onto providing him palliative care, and in between turning and suctioning and injecting meds and trying to lock into memory the feeling of his reassuring energy, I went to school at the kitchen table. A pathway meant to fulfill nursing registration obligations, a pathway meant to secure greater employment. Forensic coursework followed me from palliative through to my month of orientation at my new job. And still I recorded my audiobook and worked on the hardcover. And vendored my book at Pinoy Festival. During Filipino Heritage month. During Father’s Day month, the first one after Dad died. And I spoke at a podium in front of provincial, national, and international presidents of longstanding organizations. These last three all in June. Not to mention today is also the date I signed my papers last year for the big D. Still, an anniversary is usually marked with discount codes or announcements or the additional launches like that of the audiobook and hardcover… … but this peace and stillness right now finally finishing so much work plus my 3-month probation period and locking in both employee status and benefits, I haven’t felt this peace in 9 years. Because of being “late” to so many things (or delayed compared to typical timelines) in favour of sustaining peace, I now have a tidal wave of book-instigated adventures in queue. How— HOW— did they (and they) find me??? ✨✍️💫 by @g_u_knit
Exactly a week ago, I did a meaningful speech in front of presidents + vice presidents of organizations with UN connections and a seat. I somehow turned this experience of being repeatedly minimized into MAXIMIZING my voice. Then something really interesting happened. At my vendor tent for @nanaynannymamayaya at @pinoyfestivalca today, a group of three women looped back to me and asked if I would write something by 11:59PM tonight, to share with their organizations’ 100,000+ followers… on kindness. 12:17am now. 11:56PM submission. This feeling of going quieter and quieter and ceasing to speak due to the punishment doled out to you for speaking up on specific people’s harmful behaviours… to this? Surreal ✨ Come swing by my tent tomorrow and be part of this magic 💫 by @g_u_knit
Today, Bill C-16 has received royal assent and is now LAW. Intimate partner violence. The timing of it all. The one week anniversary of me flying to give a speech to presidents and vice presidents of organizations, a speech my daughter saw my generous cheque for getting paid for doing so. A speech that garnered a personal invitation from a president of an even larger organization to join yet another very important AGM. “The government bill also puts more onus on intimate partner violence offenders to prove their innocence.” — this comment from a recent article makes my speech and my initiative, my project, my work, and all 19 pages of my writing that a crowd listened to for nearly an hour (and I am still processing the jaw dropping experience of how incredibly it was received) just THAT. MUCH. MORE. My writing/posting for an update of my trip and also my thank you email to the organizations is still underway… I just want to sit in the awe of it all by myself a little longer. And I guess I can add “at a podium” when Isa says she loves me because I “stand up”. That’s what I did, with a microphone to amplify my words even louder. And because I did, a landslide more is coming down the pipe. 💫 The TIMING of it ALL. 💫 — May 25, 2026 “Mommy, do you know what I love about you? You never give up. You never stop going. You fight for what’s right, you stand up for women and freedom and things.” “How do you know I do those things Isa?” “You always do them for women.” “But how do you know I do these things.” “Because you always talk about these things, and you stand for what’s right.” “What does it mean to stand up?” “To stand up.” “Like this?” (me, stands up) “You stand up. You help women get away from m*n who h*rm them.” People. I help people get away from people … now with a piece of law on my side. 💫 The timing. by @g_u_knit
This was waiting for me in YVR. Fun fact, my name in Sign Language from grade 4 sign language club was communicated by signing the word “Silent”, swooping it while holding the letter G. This was what was chosen for me, my name, because I “didn’t talk much” and was deemed quiet. Just recently I had wondered how to change, given adjustments to my nature over time. Guess this answers it. by @g_u_knit
