$7,200 a year. That's what we were OVERspending on groceries without even realizing it.
The wildest part?
We didn't feel "deprived" after the changes.
We actually eat better now. No clipping coupons for hours, no driving to 3 different stores, no cutting out everything we love.
1. I started shopping my kitchen before I shop the store. Pantry, fridge, freezer, then list. Half of what we used to buy was already sitting at home.
2. I stopped buying in bulk just because it "felt" cheaper. Now I only buy big quantities of the 10-15 items we know we'll finish. Everything else, I get as we need it.
3. I stopped trying to cook like a food blogger. Our weeknight meals now have 5-7 ingredients, tops. Less waste, faster prep, and the kids eat more of it anyway.
4. Every "quick trip" for one thing turned into $60 of impulse buys. So now we shop once a week, with a list, and that's it.
