October might mean fall is here, but when the water looks this good, there’s no way I’m calling it quits on summer just yet. 🌊☀️

Just out here soaking up the sun, catching waves, and enjoying every last bit of that summer feeling.

Who else is still in summer mode this fall? 😁

Who Did It Beat ? @mathewhelm

I recently realized that somewhere along the way, I forgot how to play.

Not work out.
Not travel.
Not go to dinner.
Not do something that is technically “fun” but somehow still ends up being productive 🫠

I mean actually PLAY.

Do something for absolutely no reason other than: this is fun.

As high performers, we’re so used to having a purpose behind everything.

We train to get stronger.
We read to learn.
We travel and somehow turn it into content.
We rest so we can perform better.
Even our hobbies can become another thing we want to be good at.

And recently, I’ve been realizing how important it is to have parts of my life that don’t need to lead anywhere.

To laugh until my stomach hurts.
To be silly.
To try things I’m terrible at.
To do things without asking, “What am I getting out of this?”

Because I think one of the dangers of being extremely driven is that life can slowly become one big performance.

And you can become so focused on building an extraordinary life that you forget to actually enjoy living it.

Play brings me back to a part of myself that achievement can’t.

The curious part.
The spontaneous part.
The part that doesn’t need to prove, produce, improve, or achieve anything.

And ironically, I’m realizing that the more space I make for that version of me, the better I show up everywhere else too.

So this is something I’m learning in this season:

Not everything in my life needs to have a purpose.
Some things are allowed to exist simply because they make me feel alive.

And maybe for high performers, learning how to play again is part of the work too. 🤍

2011 wasn’t real

The New York Giants might have finally found their franchise quarterback… McCarthy wasted absolutely NO TIME making his presence felt.

Entering the game against the New Orleans Saints in the FOURTH QUARTER, McCarthy reportedly put together one of the most explosive performances of the 2026 NFL season.

In less than one quarter of action:

• 243 passing yards
• 26 rushing yards
• 1 passing touchdown
• 1 interception

What makes this even crazier is that McCarthy finished as the Giants’ LEADING PASSER AND RUSHER despite not entering the game until the final quarter.

His 243 passing yards were also the MOST by any quarterback in the fourth quarter of a game this season, surpassing Matthew Stafford, Joe Burrow, and Jared Goff.

After an uncertain start to his NFL career, McCarthy could be getting the fresh start he needed in New York.

Have the Giants finally found their franchise QB, or is it too early to crown JJ McCarthy?

JJ in less than one quarter of action:

• 243 passing yards
• 26 rushing yards
• 1 passing touchdown
• 1 interception

What makes this even crazier is that McCarthy finished as the Giants’ LEADING PASSER AND RUSHER despite not entering the game until the final quarter.
