Today we stepped away from Corfu's beaches and sunsets to visit a place that deserves just as much attention: the Donkey Rescue in Doukades.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this isn't just a sanctuary, it's a second chance.

Many of the donkeys here have been rescued from neglect, abandonment, or years of hard labour. Today they spend their days in peace, cared for by a small team of dedicated volunteers whose compassion is visible in every corner of the sanctuary.

Walking around, reading the stories of the animals, seeing the names of those who have been adopted, and meeting these gentle souls up close is a reminder that kindness can change lives.
