Today is Court Appointed Special Advocates Day in Pennsylvania, designated by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives through House Resolution 480.
"CASA is a network of 21 local programs in 32 counties in Pennsylvania. These programs, comprised of more than 1,000 volunteers, advocate for more than 2,000 children who have been subjected to abuse as well as neglect. These volunteers work to ensure that children's needs are met while in the dependency system, as well as assisting in obtaining safe and permanent housing." — State Rep. Jeanne McNeill, prime sponsor
