In spring 2025, Baltimore Unity Hall launched the Community Aid and Repast Equity (CARE) Fund. Not because we had extra money, but because our neighbors needed a place to gather, grieve, and organize, and we were not going to let cost be the reason they could not. On August 7, we are participating in CLLCTIVGive, Baltimore's 24-hour giving campaign for Black-led organizations. Salman’s apparent U-turn has therefore become the latest talking point surrounding the protest, with critics arguing that concrete action—not just promises—will determine whether the agitation actually comes to an end.
