This past week we had 3 members of the Sigma Chi Delta Kappa Chapter fly out to Salt Lake City, Utah completely paid for by Sigma Chi and the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.

This past weekend, Patrick took time to attend the Huntsman Retreat of Excellence, where he headed to Utah and the Huntsman Cancer Institute, being present for the giving of congratulations to our chapter for raising over $20,000 for the Institute this past school year. During this trip, he was able to be apart of a White Rose Ceremony, tours, including the University of Utah’s football stadium, white water rafting and viewing the original transcontinental railroad, and, not to mention, many more ways and ideas for Patrick to bring back to Bowling Green to raise for money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

“The Huntsman Retreat of EXcellence was an eye opening experience. Seeing all of the amazing work the people at the Huntsman Cancer Institute do and the great work that Sigs around the globe do with philanthropy was incredible!”
-Patrick Driscoll

The two other Sigs, Cole and Jake, attended week-long Horizons which allowed them to further their leadership skills and bring back many ideas to support the chapter grow to its fullest potential. During this week, these 46 brothers from across the country met up and learned about one another’s chapters and how they achieve success. Through the days, they did a variety of missions and exploring around Salt Lake City, visiting the Huntsman Cancer Institute and their laboratory, learning what goes on behind the scenes. Not to mention, they spent a lot of their time on the mountain hiking and exploring, as seen in some of the pictures in the post. Both, Cole and Jake, say they would recommend this experience to anyone in Sigma Chi as it has helped them become better Sigs.

“This was a life-changing experience that was fully paid for by Sigma Chi and the Huntsman Cancer Institute. I learned many ways to better achieve our goals at a faster rate and to better our chapter as a whole. I highly recommend the Horizons experience to anyone and everyone who can attend.
