I’m soooooo pissed the fuck off. @NYC_DOT just does whatever they want, and the mayor signs off on it.

Now they’re out here handing out FREE bike bells and bike lights to lure people into filling out a survey to change the direction of traffic on a main road in Williamsburg (11211).

First came the bus lanes. Then the bike lanes. Then the concrete barriers that took away parking from residents and small businesses. Now they want to change the traffic pattern too?

Of course all the newcomers who moved here because Williamsburg became “hip” and trendy are going to vote yes to anything on two wheels. Meanwhile, the longtime residents and small businesses—the people who built this neighborhood—are the ones losing parking, dealing with more congestion, and getting pushed out as rents keep climbing.

I hope the community stands up and doesn’t let this happen. We already fell victim to the changes on Kent Avenue, and see the chaos these changes caused on Flatbush Avenue. Don’t wait until it’s too late to speak up & Stand out.

Dot did that over here too collected survey feedback and stuffed the ballot box with bike bells and lights in an area no bus riders could access. Organize a call in date to your council member and state reps complaining about the DOTs exclusionary tactics. Even 10 calls can make a difference.
