Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya stood as the last line of defense for his patients when northern Gaza was being wiped off the map. The Left and Greens/EFA in the European Parliament have officially nominated him for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. Today, he is being held in an Israeli prison without charge, without trial, and subjected to torture. Nominating Dr. Abu Safiya isn’t just about honouring him. It is about honouring every doctor, nurse, and paramedic who has been targeted, abducted, or murdered while fighting to save lives amidst genocide. We need an immediate suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement. Free Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya.

Television actor Arjun Bijlani and his wife Neha Swami Bijlani have issued an official statement after Neha faced backlash on social media for wearing a T-shirt featuring the words “Allah, Rasool, Muhammad” in Urdu. Addressing the controversy, the couple clarified that the T-shirt was gifted by a fan at a mall in Bangkok and that Neha was unaware of the meaning and religious significance of the writing when she wore it. They expressed regret over the unintended hurt caused, emphasised their respect for all religions and beliefs, and promised to be more careful with gifts in the future. The couple also condemned the trolling, abusive language and threats directed at Neha, urging people to approach the matter with understanding and refrain from targeting her and her family. . . .
