At drop off YESTERDAY morning , Naima looks at me and asks “mom, what are we doing about Heritage Day tomorrow? Our theme is Mediterranean”

Me: 😳👀🙄🫣😖 “weh you mean what are WE going to do? Nai I have an event today, you finish late today. I can’t plan this right now. “

A FEW MOMENTS LATER I call @sophiajonesdesigns

Me: “you remember that outfit you did last year for an event? I need it to be adjusted for Nai. She can’t fit. We have zero time today. So let’s just adjust length of veil and dress .”

Sophie “Say less. Bring it come”

Me: RUN to Savannah Plaza to get more trimmings, drop off dress.

Sophie guesstimates length

I pick up outfit, get ready for my event, pick up Naima from school, drop her home, head to my event and I message her to go look in my room.

Whether she wears it open or closed, I hope it works out today.

Two actors that went from Mortal Kombat to Street Fighter

There have been two actors who have been in both a Mortal Kombat & Street Fighter movie

• Robin Shou, who played Liu Kang in the 1995 & 1997 Mortal Kombat movies, would go on to play Gen in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li

• Mel Jarnson, who played Njtara in the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie, would go on to play Cammy in this year’s Street Fighter movie

Also giving a shoutout to @nbcsnl for approving that monologue 🖕

You know what’s funny? My two boys have NEVER once questioned why their mom wears shorts to the gym. Not once. They don’t see something inappropriate. They see their mom lifting their dad’s body weight, working hard, getting stronger, and doing something she loves.

Because that’s what they’re being raised to recognize. A woman’s strength, not how much skin she’s showing.

••••••••••••••••••
Moms who lift, moms in the gym, whore shorts, strong moms, modern motherhood, girl strength, strong like a mother
