It’s so hard to find the words right now, not only because it’s difficult to put into words how much I loved him, but also because it’s impossible to fully capture the unwavering love he had for his family.

Poppy was the rock of our family, the person who always showed up without hesitation, no matter what. He was the glue that kept us all together, making sure we gathered around the table for Sunday dinners and never letting us forget the importance of family. Gosh I’ll miss his cooking. But more than anything I’ll miss the way he brought all of us together.

I’ll also miss our many Valentine’s Day dates at the Moriches Bay Diner. Poppy, I was so lucky to have you as my Valentine even throughout my 20s, and I will cherish those moments forever and ever.

I love you so much and will miss you every single day.
