We woke up this morning to news of a fire at the Marché des Enfants Rouges. Fires destroying major landmarks in Paris are something we're, unfortunately, not immune to. The market holds a special place in our hearts. We're incredibly grateful that no serious injuries have been reported, but devastated that about 20 vendors have lost their stalls. This is a heavy blow for the people who make this market what it is. Facts in this post came from Le Monde. #ParisInMyPocket #Paris #MarcheDesEnfantsRouges
#NEWS - A Texas detention deputy has been fired after photos of her posing with jail inmates surfaced on social media. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Detention Deputy #KarlaBeltran was terminated on Monday, October 12, just over three months after joining the department on July 1. The photos show Beltran sitting in front of a window overlooking an inmate holding area, with several inmates posing alongside her from behind the glass. According to the sheriff’s office, Beltran was dismissed during her one-year probationary period, which requires new detention deputies and cadets to meet strict performance and conduct standards. Employees who fail to meet those expectations can be terminated immediately without the right to appeal.
