🚫 NO MANAGER, 🙅🏻‍♀️ NO AGENCY, JUST A GIRL (w promoter support this time) AND I SOLD OUT my 2nd London headline show at @thejazzcafe 🥹🎷WITH 500+ OF YOU!! WHAAAT 🇬🇧🫶🏼 Major flash warning! ⚠️⚠️ Using my @aiaiai.audio wireless headphones (the best) 🎧👀 What I’ve wanted since becoming a DJ is to play the music I love, be an xtra diva with my instruments, and for everyone to just have FUNNN, SING AND DANCE ur hearts out and we did that!! Twice!! I am so so so grateful to be able to just b myself and be met with such love and community. I thought last yr was crazy but this was a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL of energy I have never seen (the way u can’t even hear me in some vids) I am so proud to be able to create a space like this for a night. Y’all 😭🫶🏼 Y’all make me the happiest girl in the world ty for supporting me irl, online, London, everywhere. I will keep working hard to make every show better than the last xoxoxoxo OK ENOUGH EMO STUFF now bruhhhh omds 😭😭😭 Thank you to the Jazz Café team & Columbo Music for trusting me w this show and for everyone who helped me make my vision a reality!! I was still w my prev mgmt for the veryyyyy beginning of planning this show but did the rest independently. And am independent today besides my Asia booking agency (so I didn’t do this specific show via an agency so wanted to b proud of myself for that) OKAY THOSE R MY DISCLAIMERS 😭 lol :3
A follower recently asked me a rather interesting question, and I felt it deserved a public reply. Not just because it made me think, but because I wondered if the answer might resonate with someone else, too. Why do I read about complicated relationships, infidelity and broken marriages, a subject that once hurt us must mean reopening old wounds? Human relationships are incredibly complex, and I read about all kinds of human experiences because I’m curious about people and what makes them who they are. Books allow us to explore these experiences from a safe distance and sometimes understand ourselves a little better, too. I also don’t believe healing means avoiding everything that reminds us of what we’ve been through. For me, reading about difficult experiences offers perspective. Sometimes, it means reaching a place where we can look at something that once hurt us without allowing it to define us or take us back to that place. Not every story that reminds us of pain has to reopen a wound. Sometimes, it simply reminds us of how much we’ve grown. 🤍
