3 months agoThank you for taking the time to demonstrate this. I actually held the suction for my whole career and my shoulder is now paying the price. Any tips for other clinicians is really helpful. I wrote an article about it. https://beyondtheclinic4.wordpress.com/2026/07/26/no-hygienist-would-ever-say-this-about-a-dentist/
3 months agoDry angle on inside of cheek then place saliva ejector. For all ultrasonic you need to be using HVE as per IPAC in ON 🇨🇦 I have purevac system : Light flexible hose/ HvE built in mirror 🙌
3 months agoUse a dry angle as barrier/ protects cheek from suction and allows water to flow into it. I work in perio with a lot of older patients, missing teeth etc. And our suction is so strong. It really helps a lot. My patients even comment about how well it helps
3 months agoI’m sorry did any hygienist not already know about bending the saliva injectors??
4 months agoI almost always let the patient hold the suction and it was wonderful for both of us.
