As I begin to look towards the start of my journey with NC State Women's IcePack, I can't help but look back at my time in Vermont with a whole lot of gratitude, a little disbelief, and more experience in one year than I ever could've imagined.
This year was a whirlwind of ups and downs, yet I look back on my time working with UVM Athletics as the year I found my career path, and honed in on a vision of mine. Something I wanted for myself, and projected, but something that I had no way of actually knowing was possible. I just went for it, hoping the draw towards this path was what I was supposed to be doing.
This past year I not only worked as a photographer in sports media, but I was also lucky enough to intern with the marketing and fan engagement department at UVM Athletics. Being able to not only have the time and the space to master camera work, but also getting the opportunity to indulge and gain experience within the spaces that make the gears turn for those games to happen was a privilege; and only made my love for the ladder I chose to climb that much greater.
I want to thank Nich Hall, but also Krista Balogh, Haldey Kielich, Jill Brody, and Pete Estes for taking a chance on me and giving me opportunities I never would've had otherwise. From the very first email I sent, I truly wouldn't have half the portfolio or experiences I have today without all of you.
Thank you to UVM ACHA, UVM NCAA, UVM Men's Rugby, Neil Brodeur and the Rice Knights Athletics Program, Liam Crowley and my Six Stars colleagues, and of course my family, friends, and everyone who supported me along the way. Thank you to every athlete and team who took me in, and who trusted me to capture their moments and shared my work; there are not nearly enough words for how lucky I feel to look back at the countless moments that I can say I’ve captured.
To all of the athletes and individuals who allowed me to execute visions in different shoots and shared my work in their stories, posts, reels, etc. and to all of the projects, memories, reels, mini mics, and graphics,
I would be nowhere without all of you.
