Just in: Scientists at World Weather Attribution have determined that global warming has so amplified Europe’s current extraordinary heat wave that it would have been virtually impossible at this time of year as recently as 50 years ago. They have further determined that the heat wave’s very warm overnight lows are 100 times more likely than as recently as 23 years ago during the infamous 2003 European heat wave. And the study also indicates that the developing El Niño has been completely ruled out as a driver of this heat. All science. No spin. No politics. Just another weather event highly consistent with what climate scientists have been telling us for decades.
