🎶 Dance Performance: Female Funk Fruition 🎶
Female Funk Fruition is the brainchild of Shelltoe Mel (Artistic Director/Dance Artist) and Nadia Sewnauth (Producer/Dance Artist) established as a community collective in 2023 providing monthly accessible dance sessions for females and non binary individuals.
In the last 3 years they have performed and collaborated with a breadth of artists and companies including Roche (Ghetto Funk Collective), Mr Wiggles (Electric Boogaloos/ Rock Steady Crew), Sunny Govan Radio, Queen’s Park Hip Hop Jam, Yardworks, Whacking Scotland, Bloc+, McChuills, The Bridge festival, Newcastle.
They most recently took part Breakin' Convention Tour 2026 at Tramway, Glasgow with the debut performance of their piece ""Aye Wonder"" which is a celebration of all the females in Hip Hop who came before them.
The main goal is making dance accessible, ensuring foundations and traditions of funkstyles dance are nurtured and carried on in Scotland. Using the Hip-Hop blueprint of Peace, Unity, Love and Having Fun as their fundamental aims.
They have created an encouraging and supportive environment to learn and develop dance styles in Popping, Locking, Freestyle Rocking and Whacking.
