First wild swim of the year, checking out some local places.
Parked at the Newbridge on Usk, popped into ask if it was okay and said I'd pop back for a drink after (which went down very well and great views from the beer garden). But there is a small pull in 300 metres or so from the pub, which would fit 3 cars and has a gate into a field which follows the river. You can walk through here and drop to the river further up, the river there is quite shallow and you can walk across.
I dropped down a steep bit before the gate though and sat on some rocks as thought it might be quieter.
The current was fairly strong, but swimming up stream and keeping to the edge was fine. Swam up about 300 metres and came back, did a couple of these.
The water was so warm and it was so very peaceful 🤩.
Saw loads of beautiful blue dragonflies💙
