Friedrich Nietzsche, Sigmund Freud and Michel Foucault are and always will be my greatest influences. They all have learned from each other, but Michel Foucault was born in 1924, so there might’ve been a chance he met Sigmund Freud. But Nietzsche who was a philosopher, and Sigmund Freud who was a psychoanalyst helped us to understand the unconscious and many things that are subjective in nature. Nietzsche was famously known for “God is Dead” and his big stance on anti religion, while Freud was best know for being the first person to coin and come up with psychoanalysis and the unconscious, but is very well known for his Interpretation of Dreams. All three individuals, Nietzsche, Freud and Foucault were well ahead of their times and challenged the status quos of their times and political landscapes. Their work and contributions will always inspire me to search for the truth and meaning in this world. Nietzsche and Foucault were philosophers who were in the realm of subjectivism and social control. Freud was also in the realm of subjectivity. All three individuals were influenced by each other, so to understand their work you have to read all of theirs. But Nietzsche and Freud were influenced by Arthur Schopenhauer and Martin Heidegger, among others. All of them have left a lasting legacy, and their works will withstand the test of time and space.
