😱 This child looks elderly, but is only 8 years old.
This rare condition is called Progeria (Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome) — a genetic disorder caused by a mutation in the LMNA gene.
👶 Children are usually born normal, but within the first few years of life they develop:
• Growth failure
• Hair loss
• Thin, wrinkled skin
• Prominent veins
• Features resembling accelerated aging
🧠 Despite their appearance, intelligence is usually normal.
❤️ The biggest danger is early heart disease and stroke due to accelerated atherosclerosis.
🌍 Progeria is extremely rare, affecting about 1 in 4–8 million births worldwide.
