Riverbed is based on interviews Sena Başöz conducted with migrants and archivists in Basel. Set against a fictional end-of-the-world scenario inspired by ongoing ecological and political crises, the publication uses the river as a metaphor for memory in constant flux, asking: “What would remain if the River Rhine stopped flowing? What would you want to keep?”
For Vanilla, Grass, Almond, the artist presents an intervention on Riverbed, extending the publication into the exhibition space and opening new ways of engaging with memory, loss, and preservation.
