On 28 April 1981, Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads stepped into Channel 31 Studios in Rochester, New York, to film a promotional performance for the After Hours TV show.

What followed became one of the most iconic pieces of guitar footage ever captured.

Randy’s performance of “Mr. Crowley” is still studied by guitarists more than four decades later, and many fans consider it one of the greatest guitar solos ever recorded on film. Knowing he would tragically pass away less than a year later at just 25 years old makes this footage even more special.

Is this the greatest guitar solo of all time?

For such a gentle soul to play so violently will always blow my mind. Glad I was around to participate in the early days of Metal…….. and yeah, it’s still Metal up your ass
