For aircraft nerds only 😁 The startup of the Saab 17 ( also known as the B17 ( not to be confused with the Boeing B-17 )
It’s a bomber reconnaissance aircraft developed during WWII. Notably, it was the first all-metal, stressed-skin aircraft produced in Sweden. It also featured highly innovative landing gear that doubled as dive brakes. #saab17 #krigsflygfält16

I suppose it was also designef as a bomber, reconaissance planes usually doesn't need dive brakes

I was wondering if there were any surviving Saab B-17s still around

The SAAB B17 sits high, like a broad-shouldered, knuckles-down, silverback holding his stance. Looks built, ready to absorb lead. It shared that muscular stance with the Junkers Ju 87 Stuka, which is something else entirely. The Stuka does not stand. It perches with its fixed landing gear. And then there is the Jericho Sirens. The SAAB looks like power waiting to be challenged. The Stuka? Like fear preparing to descend.

Very cool video and thanks for not putting a soundtrack on it. Does anyone know how much the inertial starter actually weighs on such an engine size?? I am wondering about the pros and cons of that vs an electric starter
