Yesterday marked four weeks since King Harald passed away. Four weeks of mourning for our royal family, as well as the rest of the country. Four weeks since Ingrid Alexandra became Norway’s Crown Princess. She has been preparing for this role for years, and while she has stepped up with grace, elegance and dignity, she’s also a 22 year old who just lost her beloved grandfather, and has to carry the pain of the loss while simultaneously represent her country. It’s a heavy burden and responsibility, but I hope that, with time, it’ll become easier to carry. Yesterday also marked two weeks since Princess Astrid passed away. At 22, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra is now the same age as her great aunt was when she stepped up as Norway’s First Lady after her mother Crown Princess Märtha’s death in 1954. Astrid held that position for 14 years, and someday Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra will also hold that position as our country’s queen. 📸: Lise Åserud, Heiko Junge/NTB
