$Leighton folded the heat of summer into the sleeping figure of *Flaming June*. 🔥☀️ Painted in 1895, the work shows a woman curled into an almost perfect circle, wrapped in layers of translucent orange fabric. Behind her, the calm Mediterranean appears timeless, while a branch of poisonous oleander adds a quiet note of danger. Leighton developed the difficult pose through numerous preparatory drawings, studying the body, drapery and composition before beginning the final canvas. The identity of the model remains uncertain, although she may have been Dorothy Dene, one of his favorite models. Rather than illustrating a specific story, Leighton followed the Aesthetic ideal of “art for art’s sake,” using color, form and sensual beauty to create a dreamlike image of sleep and summer heat. This is an AI-imagined recreation of a moment that was never filmed. 🎬✨ *Flaming June* Frederic Leighton, 1895 Oil on canvas 🖼️ (Museo de Arte de Ponce, Puerto Rico) \#TheUnseenStudio #FredericLeighton #FlamingJune #VictorianArt #ArtReimagined$

I haven’t had much to say about the race yet because I haven’t been in a good mind space since the start. It isn’t the race’s fault, there’s something in my mind that hasn’t been able to engage with the conditions, the course, and the challenge. Somewhere deep down I thought this might be like AMR six years ago, and that I would be better at it now because I’m more experienced now. But really, this is an entirely different experience. It has the bike in common, but that’s where the commonality ends for me. Taurus is more everything. More hills more mud more rain more challenge. I feel weak saying how hard it is for me, but I owe it to myself and everyone else to be honest about my limits. I have been able to move. My body works well. My bike has been working well. But the challenge has tapped my spririt. My mind is the weak link. So, while I’ve move through steep climbs and empty mountains - shepherds down for the winter - I’ve been alone with my weak mind. I self coach, try to focus, distract, pray, whatever. But, negativity has crept in. I’ve thought of scratching more times than I can count. Even today I tried to call Sarah to tell her that I was spent, but the call didn’t go through, so I kept going. Rohan rode near me off an ok for a bit this evening. A wonderful distraction. We descended into a town searching for food and a room. No room was found. A man chased us down as we left town and invited us in. “We are just sitting for dinner. Stay with us.”
The rainy cold night shifted from bleak to wonderful instantly. The race didn’t matter. You can’t rush local hospitality. The family overwhelmed us with generosity, hot food, and tea. They washed our kits and scrubbed our shoes! This. This was a transformational moment. Warm and happy and among new friends. Maybe I’m not an ultra racer. Maybe I’m a bike tourer, amazed by people as much as mountains. Tomorrow I’ll start riding again, with this memory permanent in my mind forever. Will I make the finish? I don’t know. Day by day. Memory by memory from here on out.

New Tesla Roadster Spotted on Miami Streets 🌴⚡

The new Tesla Roadster made a surprise appearance in Miami, drawing attention among the cars outside the pastel-colored hotels. People along the sidewalk had their phones ready as the silver car sat in traffic.

Then it lifted straight off the road. Downward jets sent white vapor across the asphalt as the Roadster rose above the surrounding vehicles, moved ahead, and touched down farther along the street.

What would your first reaction be if you spotted this in Miami? 👀
