Plot twist at venue option two🫠 It’s closer to home, ultra-modern, and they told us Ben can bring his horses. The catch? It’s sitting right at the very top of our wedding budget. We are officially torn between Venue 1 and Venue 2. We’ve also got another one booked to look at tomorrow!

Such a sad week💔
Sir Patrick Stewart was an immensely talented actor.
He is also the reason I was so excited to one day end up on a Star Trek show myself. His Captain Picard was extraordinary. He led through thoughtfulness, intellect, compassion, moral conviction and a belief in the potential of people. He listened. He questioned. He believed humanity could become something better.
His Picard lives on in all of us who were inspired to imagine a better future because of him.
This photo happened backstage at @creationent ‘s annual Star Trek convention and I think the only reason it happened is because I walked into the green room holding an adorbable dog in my arms. This was the idea of my friend and convention helper, Diane. She knew I had been trying meet Patrick for years. She told me he was in the green room and joked that a sure fire way to get his attention would be to have a dog with me, as he was known to be a huge lover of dogs and huge fostering advocate. I felt that I could likely snag his attention with just my own charms, but hey- why risk it? I went up to a sweet, regular con fan and asked if I could please borrow her cute dog for a few minutes. She kindly let me run off with him to the backstage area . When I entered the green room, I saw Patrick in conversation with a few people. He looked up and saw me standing there and his face lit up with a huge smile, eyes twinkling . It was like a dream, seeing him cross the room towards me that way. Of course, it wasn’t me at all he was coming to see. “Well, who do we have here?”He asked in his gorgeous voice.
I introduced him to the pup and then introduced myself and we had a little chat. He couldn’t have been more lovely.
Someone kindly took the photo with my phone . After we walked away, I looked at my phone and saw it was a great shot but Diane had photobombed it! It was adorable and hilarious but Diane felt so bad because she knew how much I loved him. She immediately sent it to a friend who photoshopped her out of it for me. Today I post both photos. The original captures the full memory of that day. ❤️

And so, we finally made it and set up base in our new home in the south west. We always had a plan to return here, and that’s become more important as our parents need a little more support. It’s a lot to ask of the youngest two, uprooting them from their lives and their friends. Hopefully they won’t hold it against us forever. We bribe them with beaches and surf and pasties.

And a nice view.

And time with cousins.

And compulsory forest walks.

And new kittens. Who the dog has given up objecting to.

And commitment to a great Halloween.

And time with cousins and grandparents in the pub.

And visits to junk shops (oh, that’s just for me)

And new clubs.

And more pubs, and cousins and grandparents.

So yes, it’s been worth it.

So I’m now 50/50 north west/south west. Which means several days a week I hide away in Salford to devote myself to work (#devoted), life admin, and FaceTiming my beloved children/husband/dog/kittens. Mostly the dog tbf.

We also bribed her with pasties.
