When my husband told me he had found us a babysitter for Turks & Caicos, my first reaction was, “Heavens no!”
We’d never left our boys with a babysitter in another country before.
But after doing my homework, I felt comfortable enough to enjoy a date night together.
If you’re considering hiring a babysitter while traveling, here’s my travel babysitter checklist:
✔️ Use a reputable agency that conducts background checks and requires babysitters to be CPR certified.
✔️ If you’re staying at a vacation rental instead of a resort, call a nearby luxury hotel and ask which babysitting agency they use. Then contact that agency directly.
✔️ Meet the babysitter a day or two before your date night. It gives your kids time to warm up to them, and it gives you a chance to ask questions and trust your instincts.
✔️ Make sure your kids have a way to reach you. My boys wear TickTalk watches, so they could call or text me anytime, and I could see where they were if they left the villa.
None of these things guarantee you’ll feel 100% comfortable, but they gave me the peace of mind to enjoy a couple of hours with my husband.
If you’ve been thinking about getting your kids a TickTalk watch for travel or everyday life, **comment “WATCH”** and I’ll send you the link to save money. You can also use my code **TTTM** at checkout.
✨Would you ever hire a babysitter while traveling, or is that a hard no for you?✨
Save this for your next family vacation if a date night is on your wish list.
