“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many”. - Mark 10:45
It has never been about me, and it never will be.
I am honored to have graduated from Officer Candidate School and earned the title of United States Marine. But to say I accomplished this in my own strength would not be true.
I thank God because without Him, I would not have had the strength to persevere, the courage to press on, the ability to learn, or the peace to endure. I thank God because without Him, I would not have the family and friends who faithfully encouraged and supported me through every step of this journey. I thank God because without Him, I would not be where I am today.
More importantly, I thank God for the responsibility He has entrusted to me. Earning this title is just the beginning of a calling to lead Marines with humility, integrity, courage, and selflessness. Through Jesus’ example, I know that leadership is not about status or being served, but about serving others with a servant’s heart and placing the welfare of those entrusted to me above my own. Lastly, I’d like to extend a thank you to my parents who have always shown me the importance of leading in this way and my brothers as well for always being my number one supporter in this journey. I look forward to this next chapter of my life and whatever the Lord has in store.
