One of the most beautiful gorge walks in Germany ✨🇩🇪

📍 Partnachklamm, Bavarian Alps

Towering rock walls, turquoise water, waterfalls cascading from above, and a trail carved straight through the mountain… it honestly feels like something out of a movie 🥹

Know before you go 👇
📌 Located near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany
🚙 Parking available near the Olympic Ski Stadium
🥾 Out-and-back hike: ~3–6 km depending on your route
⌚️ Plan 1.5–3 hours, especially if you continue beyond the gorge
🎟️ Small entrance fee to access the gorge
🌄 Best time: early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds
⚠️ The path can be wet and slippery, so wear shoes with good grip

👉 For an even better experience, continue hiking past the gorge toward the Eckbauer area for beautiful alpine views.
This is one of those places that’s easy to add to any Bavarian Alps road trip and absolutely worth the stop 💙

Dude outruns a massive wave! 😳 🙏🏻 Please read this: Coastal erosion is getting worse, and we can’t keep treating the symptoms alone. Protecting roads, parking lots, property, and homes requires BOTH coastal armoring and sand replenishment. This is imperative for public safety and protecting infrastructure. Look at Baja and less-developed stretches of Mexico — you’ll often see massive, healthy beaches. Why? Their arroyos, creeks, and rivers still flow relatively naturally and deliver sediment to the coast, continuously rebuilding the shoreline. In Southern California and Orange County, it’s the opposite. Millions of homes, roads, culverts, dams, sidewalks, golf courses, and other development upstream have locked up the land. That sediment never reaches the beach like it used to. The result: chronic sand starvation and accelerating coastal damage, especially during big swells and storms. If coastal cities were able to place millions of cubic yards of sand on the beaches while ALSO using armoring (riprap, seawalls, etc.) where needed, we would have far better protection and wider beaches for the long term. Natural systems need sediment.
