Imagine telling Barcelona 𝗡𝗢𝗧 to sign Lionel Messi... 😧

In 2000, a 13-year-old Messi arrived at La Masia. Three Barça coaches evaluated the young Argentine, and their original scouting reports, revealed by @florenttorchut show just how differently they viewed his potential 👀

𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝟭:
“𝙂𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙜𝙚, 𝙝𝙚’𝙨 𝙖 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧. 𝙃𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨: 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙡𝙚, 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙘𝙠-𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙙, 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙩. 𝙑𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙭. 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙠 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙝𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮. 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧.”

𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝟮:
“𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙝𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝟭𝟰𝟮 𝙘𝙢) 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜. 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙛 𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙨, 𝙖𝙩 𝟭𝟱𝟬 𝙘𝙢 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙮. 𝙄 𝘽𝙀𝙇𝙄𝙀𝙑𝙀 𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝙃𝙊𝙐𝙇𝘿 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝘽𝙀 𝙎𝙄𝙂𝙉𝙀𝘿. 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨.”

𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝟯:
“𝙎𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨, 𝙝𝙚’𝙨 𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙖 (𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚). 𝙄’𝙙 𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙢, 𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙛𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧. 𝙒𝙚’𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨.”

Fortunately for Barcelona, those doubts didn’t stop Messi from joining the club. With the support of his father Jorge, he continued his development at La Masia and made his first-team debut just four years later, in 2004 🔵🔴

FROM A TINY BROOKLYN APARTMENT TO UPHOLSTERING FURNITURE IN DOUGLASVILLE! 🪑💙

Hey Folks!

One of the questions I get asked most often is, “How did you learn upholstery?”

The short answer? I’m self-taught!

Books, YouTube University, LOTS of trial and error, a few choice words 🤣, and an endless curiosity about how things are made.

House of Nambili actually began over 10 years ago in Brooklyn, NY, creating pillows, soft furnishings, and home décor accents.

When my husband and I moved from our tiny Brooklyn apartment to Douglasville during the pandemic, I finally had something I’d been dreaming of: SPACE!

Space to create. Space to experiment. Space to make mistakes. And space to take furniture apart and figure out how to put it all back together! 😂

Fast-forward to today, and I’m professionally restoring and reupholstering furniture. And guess what?

I’M STILL LEARNING!

And this sofa? It’s proof of what curiosity, patience, practice, and a willingness to make mistakes can produce.

I didn’t start here. I worked my way here, one project at a time.

That’s the beauty of this craft. There’s always something new to discover.

It’s also why I created RE:FRAME, a beginner-friendly, hands-on upholstery workshop designed to help curious creatives discover the joy of transforming furniture without having to figure EVERYTHING out alone.

No sewing machine. No previous experience. No fancy equipment. Just curiosity, patience, and a willingness to try!

Our first RE:FRAME workshop is happening THIS SATURDAY, October 17, in Douglasville! We’ll start small with approachable projects like removable dining chair seats, stools, and small benches.

Because every showstopper starts somewhere. 😉

Now I’m curious…

If you could learn to reupholster ONE piece of furniture, what would it be?

A dining chair? A bench? An ottoman? Or that mystery piece you’ve been holding onto for years? 👀😂

Tell me below! 💙

Last month I had the most special visit thanks to @lollipoptheater with the ever-inspiring kids and staff at @kplacounty im so unbelievably grateful they invited me in to spend time with everybody and to be able to work with such a wonderful organization. And thank you to @regalmovies for allowing us to show the kids
