2,000 candles in the shape of Vacheron Constantin’s Maltese Cross on the steps of The Met’s Great Hall. The beginning of an exquisite evening hosted by Vacheron Constantin and The Met in the Temple of Dendur — celebrating the culmination of their inaugural Artisan Residency Program. That gallery can be filled with complicated decor. This night was about the opposite — the drama of the handmade. Three new works unveiled under 2,000-year-old stone — Aspen Golann’s monumental VESSEL, Ibrahim Said’s SHAPING TIME, and Joy Harvey's RUINED SPLENDOUR - BRONZE DIADEM — each born from 18 months of study in The Met’s collection and in Vacheron’s workshops in Geneva. A night built on one metaphor layered on another: the handmade precision of the watches, to the artists in residency, to the hands that carved the Temple itself, so many centuries ago. An extraordinary night of details, precision, artistry. In this age of uber fast digital advances, the slow triumphs of the hand and heart must be celebrated as well. Swipe — . . . New here? I’m the instawanker who puts pumpkins in her bathroom. This started as an interiors account, but these days it’s a little bit of everything I love. Colour, vintage treasures, charity shop finds, cats and a house that’s never quite finished. If you think beige is overrated and your home should bring you joy, you’re in the right place. A heartbreaking incident has taken place in a church in Ecuador. Father Patricio Sánchez lost his life after a large cross fell on him while he was leading a mass. The local community is struggling to process the suddenness of the accident. He passed away while doing the work he dedicated his life to. Our thoughts are with the Perpetuo Socorro church and the Catholic faithful in Guayaquil. #viral #usa #trending #explorepage

We celebrated our traditional betrothal ceremony (過大禮) recently, and my heart is so full ❤️💍🧧 Guo Da Li is a traditional Chinese wedding custom, typically held 1–3 months before the wedding day, ahead of the legal marriage registration or wedding ceremony, to formally mark the couple’s commitment and bring blessings to their new chapter together. The groom’s family presents gifts to the bride’s family as a symbol of sincerity, blessings, prosperity, and respect. Traditionally, the groom arrives at the bride’s home and seeks her family’s blessing and permission before proceeding with the wedding customs. Once permission is granted, the groom is welcomed into the bride’s home, where the families exchange blessings and carry out traditional wedding rituals to celebrate the couple’s union. The betrothal gifts are symbolic, representing blessings of prosperity, abundance, fertility, and good fortune for the couple’s future together. The bride’s family returns part of the gifts, symbolising shared blessings and prosperity between both families. I’m so grateful my oldest sister was there for me and preparing everything, the decorations, all the details in the house and how much time and efforts she had put into this. As happy as I am, the moment also feels a little bittersweet. 🥺❤️ I can’t help but wish my dad were here to witness this special milestone. My mum and my other sister are also living so far away in the United States, and I truly wish we could all have been together that day. I’m also so grateful to have someone who respects and honours such an important part of my identity❤️ and very soon, we are going to enter a new stage of our life 💒💍 📸 by @moriwangphotospace Mori is so talented! Every shot tells a story of its own, capturing not just the moment but also the little details and emotions that make it so special✨
