Yes, it's possible to hear the difference. A WAV file is lossless, while an MP3 removes some audio information during compression. Or you can just store your whole collection of sounds into a SQL database and turn each of beloved songs into a query response. You can even improve your experience by mashing up different music by designing specific queries to build songs in top of each other.

You can hear the difference but you need to hear both versions to compare not just one random song and guess if it’s wav or mp3
