Democratic U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens faced backlash Sunday after endorsing Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race, including being heckled and called a “traitor” during a joint news conference with Rogers. A protester shouted, “Haley Stevens is a traitor!” as Stevens stood alongside Rogers. The news conference ended shortly afterward, just two days before Tuesday’s election. Earlier Sunday, Stevens attended a service at Detroit’s Perfecting Church with Rogers before publicly announcing her endorsement of the Republican candidate over Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed, who defeated her in August’s primary. President Donald Trump praised Stevens on Truth Social, describing her as a “Highly Respected Democrat” and commending her decision as an act of bravery. The endorsement also triggered turmoil within Stevens’ congressional office. Her longtime chief of staff resigned, along with her communications director, while additional staff departures were reported. Stevens had previously pledged to support El-Sayed but reversed course following a public dispute involving Israel and campaign messaging. Her decision comes as Michigan voters prepare to choose between Rogers and El-Sayed on Tuesday, Nov. 3, in a closely watched race for the U.S. Senate.

Nesting thoughts 💭🐣 Having been a midwife prior to this you would think I’d have it all figured out😅 But honestly, having more knowledge doesn’t always help. Sometimes, it actually makes things feel harder. I’m still human, with my own experience, my own concerns and worries. I have a midwife because I recognise that I shouldn’t be making all the decisions on my own through an emotional or biased lens. Yes, I trust my body, but in this world I’m not sure if that’s enough anymore, and I think that’s true for almost everything in life. Isn’t that why coaches need coaches, doctors need doctors, and therapists need therapists? Knowing and doing aren’t the same thing, and I’ve learnt that there is so much value in the unteachable lessons we gain from personal experience. So, to all the mums here, what’s the best advice you received during pregnancy or motherhood? Help a new FTM out 🩷
In Atlanta, @secrubio led @g20org countries back to their core mission: Drive economic growth and strengthen economic security. The United States will continue leading these efforts with our partners in December at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Miami, concluding our G20 presidency year with results and wins for the American people and the world.
🦈 Interesting fact: ⠀ Shark Tale (2004) — This Animation, Action, Comedy, Family film follows Oscar, a small fish whose big aspirations often get him into trouble, and Lenny, a great white shark with a surprising secret: he’s a vegetarian. When a lie turns Oscar into an improbable hero and Lenny becomes an outcast, the two form an unlikely friendship as they navigate the underwater world. ⠀ One interesting production fact is that the film was initially announced and began production under the title of Sharkslayer. The title was later changed to Shark Tale to make it sound less v*olent and more family-friendly, reflecting a shift from a darker initial concept. ⠀ What makes Shark Tale stand out is its exploration of identity and the consequences of deception within a vibrant underwater world. It delves into themes of social status, unlikely alliances, and the struggle to be true to oneself despite external pressures. Its central question is whether honesty and genuine friendship can ultimately triumph over lies and societal expectations.
