Half of the “I’m falling behind” feeling in design isn’t real. It’s manufactured.
Someone posts “I don’t even need this anymore, look how fast I am.” That’s not helping you. That’s a pace you never agreed to run.
You see it. You panic. You go find the same tool. Not because you needed it. Because you didn’t want to be the one still doing it the old way.
That’s not FOMO. That’s peer pressure with a UI.
Most of that flex is social media, not signal. It’s not your manager. It’s not your roadmap. It’s a feed built to make “behind” feel permanent.
The designers earning their seat at the table aren’t chasing every new tool the week it drops. They know why the tool they’re using solves the problem in front of them.
Are you adopting tools because they solve a real problem, or because someone bragged about dropping the old one?
Pair with the clip.
