#Instagram is reportedly offering #YouTube #creators between $50,000 and $500,000 to bring their long-form videos to Instagram, as the #Meta-owned platform attempts to compete more directly with YouTube. The payments are part of Instagram’s newly announced “Features” program, which allows creators to upload horizontal videos lasting up to 90 minutes. According to Business Insider, Instagram has approached select YouTubers with offers starting at $50,000, while some creators have reportedly received deals worth as much as $500,000. The agreements reportedly do not require exclusivity, meaning creators can continue posting on YouTube as long as they upload the same long-form content to Instagram on the same day. Meta confirmed that it is financially supporting certain creators but declined to disclose individual contract details. The new Features program is designed to attract podcasters, comedians, entertainers and other long-form content creators. Instagram will also allow creators to connect shorter Reels to their full-length videos, making it easier for viewers to discover and watch longer content without leaving the app. However, the payments are currently limited to select creators, and Instagram has not announced a widespread monetization program that pays everyone based on views, similar to YouTube. Instagram head Adam Mosseri acknowledged that the company is exploring additional ways to compensate creators. It also remains unclear whether the reported deals represent payments per video, monthly contracts or one-time agreements.
